Yearly Giving Profiles
This great idea came to us at the suggestion of one of our clients and it is a snapshot of the giving by year for donors. You may have noticed a new branch in the Navigation Tree within a donor record:
Once you click on it, it will give you a display of the donor’s giving by year along with summary and significant gifts.
Of course, we added a little “ROI Flair” to this with a filter set to enable the display to show you what you want to see — by Campaign, Promotion, Source Type, Contact Type, for the Individual or Household and by Fiscal or Calendar Year.
Deposit Accounts
Why Should You Consider this?
Here’s the age old question….when funds come into your organization and get deposited, how do you know the donations were keyed into your database? I mean how do you really know?
Revolution Online has a deposit tracking system. It allows you (or your keying/cashiering vendor) the ability to create deposit tracking forms directly within Revolution Online and then link those deposits to batches that have been keyed into the system – ensuring a 100 percent tie out between what was deposited on your behalf and what was keyed into donor records.
Now truth be told, this system was developed for those clients that use Revolution Online to link directly to their financial accounting systems and for those clients, this system is mandatory (as they need 100 percent assurance of what was keyed before it gets sent to finance). But there’s no reason why this system can’t and shouldn’t be used across the board by ROI Clients. It’s easy, provides a high degree of confidence in your systems, and actually SAVES time over the existing systems you may have in place. And best of all, this feature is free-of-charge and already available to all clients.
To use this, go to the Tools Tab within Revolution Online. There you will find, in the navigation, “Deposits.”

An Update on API’s
Lots of updates on the API front…
Our pals at Wealth Engine released a new version of their ProspectLink which ROI put into place earlier this month.
Full two-way connections are in place for Democracy In Action and Convio clients as well as for several “do it yourself” clients where their outside websites connect directly to ROI Solutions allowing data to come directly into their ROI Revolution Online Database. It’s very exciting to see new donors/members, sustainer, membership, donation and address updates (even photos!!) all come into the ROI database without extra uploads or manual keying. Real-Time sure is nice isn’t it?
The ROI Solutions/Convio “Charter Program” is now complete and ready for Prime Time. For those ROI clients that use Convio, the ROI API includes a two-way (push and pull) connection into the Convio platform, allowing the ability to push changes made on the ROI side out to Convio as well as accepting changes and updates automatically from the Convio-side.
Please contact your ROI Account Manager for more information on any of these features.
Did You Know? >>Source Flags
If you’ve ever poked around long enough in the source code entry screens, you may have noticed this little flashy widget…(affectionately called the Source Code Flag Button):
![]()
A source flag is to identify the conceptual aspect of a mailing or entity or really “anything” that you might want to track. This will help you gain important analytical information over time.
