The Platform Change:
CDP Announces Strategic Partnership with ROI Solutions
CDP President Michal Heiplik announced the formation of a strategic partnership with Medford, MA-based ROI Solutions and the selection of their CRM platform, Revolution CRM. The CRM will join a broad suite of tools in CDP’s technical ecosystem used to power CDP’s fundraising efforts, services, and data analytics. Revolution CRM will be implemented across CDP’s 40+ public media partner stations, providing the backbone of future fundraising success. Revolution Online will replace NGO Connect, which is being retired by Salesforce.
About CDP
The Contributor Development Partnership (CDP) is a unique industry resource with a 10-year proven record of advancing public media organizations’ success and helping increase their net revenue as they build support for their distinctive local missions. Nearly 200 stations participate in CDP’s core services. The National Reference File is a collective database that allows CDP to benchmark station fundraising performance, support research and development of new strategies, and drive new revenue opportunities. The Member Services Bureau offers a cost-effective contributor fundraising service on behalf of stations—helping raise over $160 million per year to support stations. This effort enables stations to focus on building strong relationships with contributors in their local communities. CDP is a data-driven organization that empowers every station to apply scale and drive significant improvement in fundraising. Core to CDP’s mission is to continuously champion testing and innovation for the benefit of public media stations.

Outcome
By using ROI Solutions, CDP avoided spending more time and expense recreating core Revolution CRM functionality and integrations on another software platform rather than focusing on innovative new fundraising strategies and programs to offer the public media sector at a time of great economic uncertainty.
The Solution
A Joint Technology Venture that Sustains a Thriving Public Media System
According to Heiplik, “Because both CDP and ROI Solutions are mission-driven, ROI Solutions’ commitment to developing technology solutions for nonprofits aligns perfectly with CDP’s mission to help sustain a thriving public media system and is in keeping with our long history of utilizing best-of-breed technology.”
Revolution CRM is well-established within public media, having been implemented at stations including WETA, WHYY, KQED, WEDU, Maine Public, Wisconsin Public, Vermont Public, and WAMU, as well as in other nonprofit sectors. “Our partnership will significantly increase our collective ability to serve nonprofits and make this world-class technology available to public media stations of all sizes, supporting the positive impact they have in communities large and small,” said Heiplik.
Both organizations enter this joint venture recognizing the opportunity to work collaboratively to leverage their expertise to better meet public media’s current and future needs and expand the solutions available to them.
