Chad has over 20 years of experience delivering innovative solutions across corporate and nonprofit sectors. As VP of Technology and Software Development, Chad works with internal teams to amplify our client’s impact by developing our portfolio of products.
Chad started his nonprofit career in 2013 as the Data Manager for Greenpeace US, where he led significant initiatives in the CRM and analytics disciplines before moving into senior management in 2017. Before joining the nonprofit sector, his career involved multi-dimensional databases and delivering reporting and analytics projects in various contexts. He started in healthcare before joining a small consulting company, partnering with several businesses in different industries. Chad joined the team at Fannie Mae just in time for the great recession of 2008, filling roles in both the finance and IT team before returning to consulting again in 2011.
Chad earned his undergrad in Applied Economics from Virginia Tech and an MBA from George Mason. He enjoys spending time on his bike, in his kayak, and on the ski slopes. Chad is an avid reader, loves live music, and constantly searches for the perfect sour beer. He lives in northern Virginia with his partner and son, where they enjoy spending time together outdoors.

Derek is committed to the nonprofit sector with over 25 years of experience in various roles and organizations. As VP of Sales & Marketing at ROI Solutions, Derek uses his fundraising, consulting, and technical skills to deeply understand client business requirements to match them to appropriate solutions and services.
Derek started his career at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, managing youth volunteer and intern programs, implementing data tracking systems, and fundraising for programs. He joined Blackbaud in 1999, where for over 17 years, he held roles including technical support, product training, system implementation, consulting manager, and business development. He progressed into Strategic Account Manager roles to advise some of Blackbaud’s largest customers through CRM and digital system implementations and conversions. He was most recently at EverTrue, a cloud-based mobile platform for higher education.
Derek lives near the beach in Charleston, SC, with his wife and son. He kayaks through the marshes around his home, sings along loudly to 80s synthpop, and geeks out with comics and the Legos he appropriates from his son’s closet for the home office.

Founder and CEO
Gina founded ROI Solutions in 1999 and has an extensive background working directly in the nonprofit sector since 1986 – combined with extensive knowledge and experience in technology.
In her organizing days, just out of college, Gina was Regional Director for INFACT (now Corporate Accountability International) and ran both the Upper Midwest and New England Campaign Centers. Under her direction, both campaign centers tripled their staffing, activist, and fundraising bases. Later, Gina worked as Director of Development for the Nobel Peace Prize-winning organizations International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) and Physicians for Human Rights (PHR). At both organizations, Gina’s work centered on establishing major and individual giving programs, ranging from direct marketing to personal solicitations to international fundraising efforts.
In 1996, Gina began Martin/VanderLoop Associates, a Boston-based consulting agency that helped nonprofits such as Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Grassroots International, and Greenpeace USA build specific fundraising programs. Gina also served as Director of Nonprofit Development and Acting Vice President for the General Systems Corporation, a database service provider based in Virginia.
Throughout her career, Gina has supervised large-scale data conversions and has helped organizations integrate systems efficiently and cost-effectively.
Gina volunteers with local community-based nonprofit organizations in her spare time and runs fundraising/organizing training sessions. She can also be heard weekly playing guitar in ROI’s company band.

John knows data. As a senior member of our Technical and Data Services, he leads a team of data analysts and data scientists who know our clients’ databases inside and out. John is a founding member of our MiLo Intelligence team, putting his nonprofit data expertise to work predicting the future using client data to optimize fundraising results.

Karen is passionate about the nonprofit sector and our work in providing solutions that make connecting with supporters as frictionless as possible. Outside of work, she spends free time running, cycling, reading obsessively, fighting the patriarchy, making delicious vegan food, and spending time with her adorable rescue dogs.

Lee Gartley has over 25 years of professional experience leading technology and analytics companies that provide fundraising solutions to the non-profit sector. He is currently serves as the Team Lead for MiLo Intelligence Machine Learning at ROI Solutions. Previously, he served as President of Target Software and Target Analysis Group which were acquired by Blackbaud, where he subsequently served as President of its Analytics Division. In addition, Lee is currently Chairman of the Board of Segterra, a healthcare analytics company based in Boston, and previously worked as a management consultant with Boston Consulting Group. Lee has a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Lee has three children and lives in Sunapee, NH.

Susan Paine is the Vice President, Data Analytics & Strategy at Human Rights Campaign.

Wendy has over 25 years of experience delivering and managing technology solutions for enterprise nonprofits, emphasizing professional, managed, and strategic services. As Senior Vice President of Client Operations, Wendy is accountable for the end-to-end client experience, ensuring we continually exceed our client’s expectations.
Wendy began her career at Epsilon in the 1990s, working on early mainframe decision support solutions, which enabled client organizations like AARP, Special Olympics, and March of Dimes to analyze their program performance better and inform file segmentation and strategic service offerings. In 2001, Wendy joined Target Software, where she was hired to build a Service Bureau (Managed Services) business for Target’s Team Approach software. Following Blackbaud’s acquisition of Target Software, Wendy assumed the role of Vice President of Enterprise Services, managing client services teams across Blackbaud’s portfolio of service offerings. Most recently, Wendy was with Virtustream, a cloud service provider and a subsidiary of Dell Technologies, where she developed and managed their nonprofit and higher education verticals.
Wendy enjoys running and is more than halfway to her goal of running all six major marathons. In her free time, Wendy serves as Vice President of the Board for the Revere Beach Partnership (the organization that runs the International Sand Sculpting Festival). She volunteers at her high school alma mater, the Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA.
