I turned 25 shortly before joining ROI Solutions. I was working for a small non-profit on the North Shore of Massachusetts at the time, collecting reusable resources, like office supplies, furniture, and materials for art projects, and distributing them to schools and nonprofit organizations in the area. While I loved the job and enjoyed working in the nonprofit landscape, lifting heavy boxes is much easier at 20 than at 25, so I went looking for another organization with a similar philosophical mindset where I could learn, grow, and put my other skills to use.
I first entered ROI Solutions in late March of 2017. The company was located on the second floor of a squat brick building in Cambridge, MA, close to the Alewife T-station, if you know the area. I was greeted by our previous office manager, Hesse, who brought me to one of our two guitar-themed conference rooms (Fender). There, I was introduced to Berni and Sharon, who were both part of our exemplary Finance and Admin team.
I met Gina while touring the space on my second trip to ROI Solutions. She was between meetings and came out to say hello. She introduced herself, shook my hand, and asked me how I felt about dogs (positively, of course). A few weeks later, I sat behind the front desk as ROI’s next Office Manager.
During my time here, a lot has happened. We moved to a new office in 2019, relocating to a beautiful space along the Malden River in Medford, MA. We have grown steadily and strategically, adding more fantastic staff to our team to support our client partners’ evolving needs better. We adapted to the logistic challenges of a global pandemic, transitioning to a remote-first environment. To help support our growing staff, I changed positions within the organization. My career with the company began as the Office Manager, and in 2023, I was promoted to Manager, Business Operations.
What remains consistent at ROI Solutions are the qualities that first drew me to the company seven years ago – a dedication to making the world better by engaging our staff, supporting our client partners in their work, and evolving our technology solutions to make the largest impact possible. Yes, I still lift boxes now and then. The amazing people I work with at ROI Solutions and the ability to contribute toward supporting the world-changing work of nonprofit organizations have been a highlight of the last seven years. I look forward to many more here at ROI Solutions.
