VP, Sales & Marketing

Derek is committed to the nonprofit sector with over 25 years of experience in various roles and organizations. As VP of Sales & Marketing at ROI Solutions, Derek uses his fundraising, consulting, and technical skills to deeply understand client business requirements to match them to appropriate solutions and services.

Derek started his career at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, managing youth volunteer and intern programs, implementing data tracking systems, and fundraising for programs. He joined Blackbaud in 1999, where for over 17 years, he held roles including technical support, product training, system implementation, consulting manager, and business development. He progressed into Strategic Account Manager roles to advise some of Blackbaud’s largest customers through CRM and digital system implementations and conversions. He was most recently at EverTrue, a cloud-based mobile platform for higher education.

Derek lives near the beach in Charleston, SC, with his wife and son. He kayaks through the marshes around his home, sings along loudly to 80s synthpop, and geeks out with comics and the Legos he appropriates from his son’s closet for the home office.
